NLM

So. I am pretty sure none of you know what these 3 letters stand for, nor did I until yesterday. NLM stands for National Library of Medicine and the reason this of interest to myself and you readers is that they are in the process of holding their 2007 medical informatics conference on the STanford Campus.

But Paco, medical informatics and mathematical models are so boring, why do you care about such a conference?

Well, the simple answer is that the NLM conference has given me free food for teh past two lunches. I have quicky come to realize that I can eat free food and better food over the summer if I just dig around for conferences that have lunch/dinner catered. I mean, they have so much food and it will probably go to waste anyway, so why nto feed a needy student such as myself. Today they have mediterranean wraps and a sort of rice pilaf w/ apricot. It was pretty good and best of all it was free. I am making this my new pasttime for the summer, find conferences on campus and find as many possible sources for free food around campus. Wish me luck in my cheap endeavors and if you have any useful tips to pass along just post a comment.
